Dr. Amy Cashwell (master's, Education Administration and Supervision; Ed.D., Education Administration and Policy Studies), Superintendent of Henrico County Public Schools, was named the Region 1 Superintendent of the Year by the Virginia Association of School Superintendents and is now a contender for the Commonwealth’s Superintendent of the Year award. Currently in her fifth year as superintendent, Dr. Cashwell is a champion for innovation and personalized, student-centered learning.
In 2016, Dr. Cashwell was named "Outstanding Leader of the Year" by the Virginia Society for Technology in Education for her role in launching a school-based instructional technology support program. And in 2017, she was named a "Top 30 Technology, Transformer and Trailblazer Across America" by the Center for Digital Education.
