Alumna Dr. Tanganyika Millard Named Associate Superintendent for High Schools in Prince William County

GSEHD alumna Dr. Tanganyika (Tangy) H. Millard (EdD in Educational Leadership and Administration) has been appointed associate superintendent for high schools for Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS), one of Virginia’s largest school divisions.

Dr. Millard brings more than 30 years of experience in education to the role. For the past three years, she has served as PWCS’s director of high schools, where she provided leadership and support for the division’s secondary schools and worked to advance student achievement and educational excellence. PWCS announced her appointment in July 2026.

As associate superintendent, Dr. Millard will oversee high school programs and initiatives across the division, helping to guide strategic planning, instructional leadership, and student success efforts. Her extensive experience as an educator and administrator has positioned her as a respected leader committed to supporting students, staff, and school communities.

Dr. Millard’s appointment reflects her longstanding dedication to public education and highlights the impact of GSEHD alumni in leadership roles across K–12 education. Through her new position, she will continue to shape opportunities and outcomes for students throughout Prince William County and beyond.
