GSEHD alumna Dr. Christine Morano Magee (EdD in Special Education and Disability Studies) serves as director of education at the Dumbarton Oaks Park Conservancy in Georgetown, where she leads innovative, inclusive programming that connects people of all ages to the natural environment.
In her role, Dr. Morano Magee oversees interns and fellows while developing and implementing educational curricula designed to make outdoor learning accessible and engaging for diverse audiences. Her work emphasizes inclusion and experiential learning, ensuring that individuals of all abilities can meaningfully engage with the park’s natural and cultural resources.
An experienced educator and environmental leader, Dr. Morano Magee is also a master gardener and certified master naturalist. She frequently lectures on topics related to environmental education, conservation, and inclusive practices, and serves as a board member of the Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership.
Through her leadership, Dr. Morano Magee is advancing the intersection of environmental education and accessibility, helping to foster a deeper understanding of nature while promoting equitable access to outdoor learning opportunities.
