Alumnus Dr. Arik King and His STEM Nonprofit Featured on Kelly Clarkson Show

GSEHD alumnus Dr. Arik King (Ed.D., Educational Administration and Policy) is the founder of the STEM nonprofit organization Future Kings. Located in Dumfries, VA, Future Kings provides a year-long afterschool workforce development program that guides young men in grades 6-12 from underserved communities to explore exciting career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Future Kings has a targeted focus on cybersecurity, computer game design, biomedical sciences, and drone engineering. 

Dr. King was recently highlighted on the Kelly Clarkson Show as a "Rad Human" for his work, and appeared as a guest to speak about the success of Future Kings. He explained how the organization took shape based on his own experiences as a child. Watch his inspiring interview with Kelly Clarkson:
