Master's student Cooper Sved (Education Policy) developed the 2025 Blaschke Report & Toolkit, Screens in Balance: Education, Technology, and Community Conversations, for the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN).

The report examines the different ways screens appear in classrooms and homes. It also examines how educators, families, and policymakers can work together to navigate their inevitable impact on children. The toolkit includes blog posts, quick-reference guides, customizable presentation templates, take-home materials for families, and structured reflection documents to facilitate dialogue among school staff.

Six national organizations, including the National Education Association (NEA) and the National PTA endorsed his work. Mr. Sved was also  interviewed about the report in Education Week's article, "One Teacher’s Take and Research on the Screen-Time Debate."

“From my experience as a teacher, I knew that one of the toughest pieces of the puzzle here that I didn’t see very many people talking about was how to navigate those conversations [about screen time] with parents, community members, and students,” said Sved, per the article.

Sved is the CoSN 2025 Blaschke Fellow and a sixth grade teacher in Fairfax County. He has served as an intern for the U.S. House of Representatives and the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
