Over spring break, Dr. Jennifer Donaghue (Ed.D., Higher Education Administration) led the International Education Program's global course (EDUC 6630) in a study abroad experience in Spain. Through visits to universities, education organizations and cultural sites across Madrid and Granada, students explored how international higher education programs are designed, implemented and experienced, all while conducting their own research project abroad.

Designed for students interested in international education and global learning, the short-term study abroad course offered a hands-on opportunity to connect classroom theory with real-world practice. The program welcomed both undergraduate and graduate students from across GW’s schools.

“It was a wonderful week, and the students had a great time,” said Dr. Donaghue. “They learned a lot about international exchange, Spain and themselves.”

Jennifer Donaghue serves as the Assistant Provost for International Education at the George Washington University.
