International Education Week, November 12-17, 2023

International Education Week, November 13 - November 17, 2023 as set by the Department of State, is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Please join GSEHD's International Education Program (IEP) and International Education Association (IEA) at the celebration events below:

  • Monday, November 13, 5:30-7 pm: Movie Night: Mosul Documentary
    • Elliott School (1957 E St NW) Room 113
    • Join the IEA and REAL to watch a special screening of Mosul: The Mother of Two Springs on Monday evening, which will be followed by a discussion with the documentary’s writer, producer, and creator, Noor Ghazi. RSVP at go.gwu.edu/IEW23Monday
  • Tuesday, November 14, 6:30-8 pm: Lual Mayen: Gaming for Peace
    • Elliott School (1957 E St NW) Room 211

    • Join IEP for an evening of Tech & Talk featuring video game designer Lual Mayen and a discussion and simulation of ‘Salaam.’ Promoting peace through game play, Salaam is a high-tension runner simulation placing the player in the shoes of the refugee. RSVP at go.gwu.edu/IEW23Tuesday

  • Wednesday, November 15, 5:10-7 pm: UNESCO Fellows Presentation
    • Elliott School (1957 E St NW) Room 112

    • Join our returning UNESCO Fellows 2023 cohort for a presentation of their time abroad featuring a distinguished speaker discussing the importance of UNESCO. RSVP at go.gwu.edu/IEW23Wednesday

  • Thursday: November 16, 5:10-7 pmCareers in the Field of International Education

  • Friday, November 17, 6:30-8:30 pm: Annual International Thanksgiving
    • Media and Public Affairs Building (805 21st ST NW) room 309
    • Culminating our IEW23 is our annual IEP International Thanksgiving where we are highlighting the diversity among our students who represent different parts of the world via food! Please feel free to bring a dish you feel best encapsulates your home country or culture! RSVP at go.gwu.edu/IEW23Friday
