The Human and Organizational Learning (HOL) Department’s faculty, students, and alumni presented their work and were recognized for their scholarship at the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) International Conference held in Arlington, VA, February 21-24. Dr. Maria Cseh, Dr. Yoshie Nakamura, and Dr. Ellen Scully-Russ had 15 presentations in collaboration with colleagues, doctoral students and candidates (Rebecca Burns, Jeremy Coats, Zhuqing Ding, Theresa Hernandez, Jessica Hinshaw, Ying Lu, DJ Ralston, Ximena Vidal, Tresa Welch, Deyang Yu) and alumni (Neenia Barlatt-Higgins, Beatriz Conningham, Oliver Crocco, Farah Al Hinai). HOL doctoral student Mengying Cao, and HOL doctoral candidates Ying Lu, and Abdullah Clark also presented their work.

Awards
Dr. Ricco B. Hall’s dissertation, “Amongst but not Connected: Social Networking Experiences of First-Generation Professional (FGP) Black Males in the Federal Government,” chaired by Dr. Cseh, was selected from a highly competitive pool of dissertations as the Malcolm S. Knowles Dissertation of the Year Award First-Runner Up.
Dr. Oliver (Ozzie) Crocco, HOL doctoral program alumnus, was awarded the Early Career Scholar Award. This prestigious award is given to outstanding HRD scholars of the year who are in early stages of their career and who have made identifiable and significant contributions in scholarly research to the field of HRD.
