Dr. Doran Gresham and Dr. Laura Engel, with the invaluable support of GSEHD alumna Elaine Walton (master's, International and Comparative Education), expanded their global impact following the success of the first International Inclusive Education Symposium (IIES) in the spring. This fall, they have extended their cross-departmental efforts to work with teachers in both Ghana and Senegal as part of the IIES, which aims to promote inclusive education practices globally.

Dr. Gresham recently led a hybrid workshop in Senegal, "Raising the Bar: Real-World Rigor," focused on enhancing academic rigor and fostering meaningful relationships in the classroom. This exciting collaboration, thanks to Michael Abbott at KIES: Kër Imagination Education Services, is helping to increase GW’s global visibility while empowering educators in West Africa.
