GSEHD alumna Dr. Anitza San Miguel (Ed.D., Higher Education Administration) was selected by Congressman Darren Soto (FL) to be recognized and honored as part of Women's History Month due to her dedication to improving lives within the community. Congressman Soto read her biography on the House Floor and it has been entered into the Congressional Record to permanently record her efforts.
Congressman Soto's remarks include:

She guides them to flourish and project their distinctive brilliance, thereby revolutionizing their mindset to realize their ultimate aspirations. She is a loving wife and mother, a scientist, an innovative educator, an author, and a visionary leader."
Dr. San Miguel reflected on the experience and shared, "Being recognized as a distinguished leader in Central Florida by Congressman Darren Soto for Women's History Month is a confirmation that I am navigating in the right direction. It is a testament of the power of faith, dedication, and perseverance. For me, it is not about the titles or position. It is about people first. It is about being a servant leader. In her role as the Dean of Science at Valencia College, and also in her "free time" and work as a speaker, mentor, and coach, Dr. San Miguel is dedicated to the academic and professional success of individuals at all levels. Her dedication to shaping the forward trajectories of emerging leaders encapsulates her passion and commitment to continual self-improvement and fostering limitless growth and excellence. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to create ASM Mentors and the empowering podcast “Sacúdete y Toma Acción” or “Shake It Off and Take Action.” She is the author of ‘Navegador,’ a reflective journaling tool, as well as a collection of inspirational coffee table books, “Reignite,” “Grow,” and “Shine.” She has shared her guidance in the "Today's Inspired Latina" and "Today’s Inspired Leader" book anthologies.
