Dr. Melissa Kim has been an educator in the District of Columbia for more than 20 years. In her role as Deputy Chancellor of DC Public Schools (DCPS), she leads academics, interventions, innovations, and family engagement for the district’s 116 schools.
Join Dr. Kim and Dr. Dwayne Wright, Assistant Professor and Director of DEI Initiatives for GSEHD, for a discussion about the equity initiatives in DCPS, in particular those focused on LGBTQIA+ students. How does DCPS ensure that all students are treated equally and that historical discrimination is factored into pedagogy?
