Dr. Laura Engel, Professor of International Education and International Affairs, published a chapter in the 2020 UNESCO book, Humanistic Futures of Learning: Perspectives from UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks (also published in French) with Miri Yemini, UNESCO Chairholder in technology and internationalization at Tel Aviv University.
Their chapter is titled, "Internationalization in public education offers hope for future citizenship." It's included in the third section of the book, titled, "Rethinking learning systems: Strengthened public education and integrated learning networks."
Per the chapter's description:
"This piece discusses ways that the internationalization of public schools can foster inclusive belonging and social cohesion in the face of ever increasing cultural and linguistic diversity. Often criticized as fostering elitism by reproducing existing social and educational inequalities, the hope is to harness the positive effects of internationalization to reverse these inequalities instead."
