GSEHD alumna Karen Daly (master’s in Museum Education) has been named an incoming board member of the George Washington University Museum and the Textile Museum.
Daly currently serves as president of Stratford Hall, a historic preserve in Alexandria, Virginia, and the ancestral home of the Lee family. Spanning more than 1,800 acres, Stratford Hall encompasses a rich blend of natural landscapes and historic resources, offering educational programs and public engagement centered on American history and preservation.
In her new role with the museum, Daly will contribute her extensive leadership experience in historic site management, public history, and cultural preservation. She recently attended a museum reception for the exhibit Adorning the Horse alongside Dr. Lotte Lent, interim director of GSEHD’s Museum Education Program, reflecting her continued engagement with the university’s academic and professional community.
Daly’s career reflects a strong commitment to advancing museum education and connecting diverse audiences with history through thoughtful interpretation and stewardship. Her appointment to the board highlights her leadership in the field and her ongoing dedication to preserving and sharing cultural heritage.
