Reflections on 9-11

Twenty-three years ago today, on a bright and sunny Tuesday, our world was shocked by the brutal terrorist assault and murder of over 3,000 people. The term “9-11” since then has taken on two ironically overlapping connotations. As we remember loved ones, friends, and all the other innocents whose lives were shattered on that gruesome day, and as we salute the hundreds of emergency responders who risked their lives and health to save others, let’s pause for a moment of silence and reflection and commit ourselves to education as a tool for repairing our very damaged world. May the memory of the victims be for a blessing.
