GSEHD Student Sophie Nguyen Published "A Ruthless Ultimatum for International Students"

GSEHD student Sophie Nguyen (master's, Higher Education Administration) published an article entitled, "A Ruthless Ultimatum for International Students" in New America. The article is in response to the Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP) regulations for Fall 2020 international students published on  July 6, 2020, in which international students are barred to take classes or remain in the US if their school chooses to stay fully online. According to the regulations, students enrolled in such schools must either transfer to another institution that offers in-person classes or leave the country. Failure to do so could result in deportation. Sophie details the many challenges and disruptions that this causes for effected students.
