GSEHD faculty member Dr. Joshua Glazer co-authored a guest column with Cori Egan, a former GSEHD research assistant, examining the role of collaboration in improving public education. Their piece, “Partnership, not partisanship: What Memphis schools really need,” was published in the Clarion Ledger.
The column explores how school systems can move beyond political divides to better support students, emphasizing the importance of partnership, shared responsibility, and sustained investment in education.
The publication also highlights Dr. Glazer’s forthcoming book, The Grit and the Grind: Building High-Performing Education Systems in an Era of Polarization, which he co-authored with Egan, GSEHD PhD candidate William R. Berry (Education Policy), and PhD candidate Amar Fattaland (Education Policy). The book is scheduled for release in fall 2026 and examines how education leaders can strengthen systems and improve outcomes in increasingly polarized environments.
Dr. Glazer’s work focuses on education reform, system improvement, and the conditions needed to support high-performing schools. Through both his scholarship and public commentary, he continues to contribute to national conversations on how to advance equity and effectiveness in education.
