Alumna Nanako Tojo Named Executive Director of Kyodai Collaborative

GSEHD alumna Nanako Tojo (master’s in Higher Education Administration) has been appointed executive director of Kyodai Collaborative, the Friends of Kyoto University North America Branch.

In her new role, Tojo will oversee the Kingfisher Global Leadership Program and the Shida Scholarship Program while supporting Kyoto University’s international education and research initiatives throughout North America. Her work will focus on strengthening global partnerships and expanding opportunities for student and faculty engagement across borders.

The appointment represents a full-circle moment for Tojo, who participated in the Kingfisher Global Leadership Program as an undergraduate student. Now, she will help guide and support future cohorts of students as they develop leadership skills and international perspectives through the program.

Tojo recently completed her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at GSEHD and served as the student speaker at the school’s 2026 Commencement Celebration. Her selection as executive director reflects both her commitment to international education and her passion for creating meaningful educational opportunities for students.

Through her leadership at Kyodai Collaborative, Tojo will play an important role in advancing global learning, fostering cross-cultural exchange, and supporting Kyoto University’s growing network of partnerships and activities in North America.
