Welcome to the Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD)! Here at GSEHD, we host an Admitted Students Day in early spring and New Student Orientation's at the beginning of each semester. You can learn more about these events below. We hope that you’ll be able to take advantage of these ways to connect with the GW, GSEHD, and larger DC community!

New Student Orientation

For new students that are preparing to begin coursework at GSEHD- please be sure to check out our New Student Orientation video! This video is designed to highlight key supports and resources that you should be aware of before starting your first semester. You will also invited to participate in upcoming New Student Orientation events/webinars, where you can learn about more resources and meet other members of the GSEHD community.

Summer 2018 Educational Leadership and Administration New Student Orientation Sessions

Students please choose one of the online sessions to learn more about how Office of Student Life can support you during your time at GSEHD! These sessions are for Ed Leadership and Administration admitted students only.

In these online sessions, we will discuss class registration, student resources, and frequently asked questions specifically for the Ed Leadership and Administration program. This is an interactive session led by the Student Services and Career Services staff. In order to participate, you will need to have access to a computer with internet. You will be asked to participate by responding to questions via audio, video, and/or the chat feature. We look forward to speaking with you!

Join us for a day of building community and making connections between you, your peers, and GSEHD. Attendees will hear from school leadership and current students about academic success, student life, and navigating the transition to graduate school. The day will be engaging and informative - a time to connect with colleagues and resources.

  • 12:00 - 12:30 pm Lunch
  • 12:30 - 3:00 pm Program-Specific Sessions*

* Some programs, especially off-campus programs, host a program-specific orientation at a different time. The GSEHD Orientation will introduce students to general guidelines and policies which are applicable to all students. If you are able to attend both your program-specific orientation and the GSEHD orientation, we would encourage you to do so. Please check with your academic advisor or program coordinator if you are unsure whether your program has a separate orientation planned.
