Museum Education Program Awards (2007 – 08)
All Museum Education Program degree candidates are eligible for all three categories of Museum Education Program financial assistance.
A degree candidate will receive no more than one of the three categories of Museum Education Program awards listed below.
Only current degree candidates are considered, and every student receives the application forms (if any) once the degree program is underway.
Marcella Brenner Endowment for Museum Education Internship Awards (two of $5,820)
Two cash awards, equal to six credits of tuition, given during the spring semester; every degree candidate is eligible to apply.
Short application distributed to all students at beginning of fall semester; due in a month, with awards announced in December.
Based on merit and need, judged by a review board (the dean, chair, director, and faculty representative) and in accord with the FAFSA.
Doris and Sam Buchalter Endowment for Museum Education Prize (one of $500)
One cash award, announced at the Saturday GSEHD Honors Ceremony as part of GW’s Commencement weekend.
No application process; all degree candidates eligible for consideration—selection by director with faculty advisement.
Conferred in keeping with the honorees’ “love of learning and teaching”; surplus funds to support worthy endeavors.
Rossetta A. and Sadie B. Feldman Fellowships in Museum Education (Honorary)
Two fellowships, currently honorary, not to duplicate other awardees, with announcement slated for December.
No application process; all degree candidates eligible for consideration—selection by director with faculty advisement.
Based on merit, with particular emphasis on class leadership and support, as well as contributing to the field.
