Dean Feuer Elected President of National Academy of Education

Feuer, Dean of the Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) at the George Washington University, has been elected as the next president of the National Academy of Education (NAEd). Dr. Feuer will hold the title of president-elect until October 2013 and will then begin his four-year term as president. Dr. Feuer succeeds Susan Fuhrman, president of Teachers College, Columbia University, who led the NAEd since 2009.

“It is a great honor – and a significant challenge – to fill the shoes of leaders like Susan Fuhrman and, before her, Lorrie Shepard, Nel Noddings, Ellen Lagemann, Carl Kaestle, Lee Shulman, Pat Graham and others,” said Dr. Feuer. “I am excited at the prospect of working with our members and board toward the goal of improved education at all levels.”
