PAULA SEGAL, CCAS ’69 & GSEHD ‘74

Recently retired, Paula Segal spent the last 22 years of her career at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she was able to combine her passion for the Arts with a love of history. She served as chairperson of the History Department in addition to mentoring new teachers and supervising student teachers. Outside of DCPS she wrote curriculum for the Kennedy Center Education department, Artsedge project and the Sackler Gallery of Art.  Her work in education was not limited to the United States.  A trip to Ethiopia with a team of teachers provided her with the opportunity to help high schools develop a Civic education curriculum.  She was also a Fulbright Scholar in Israel.
