Leadership in Educational Technology

Graduate Certificate

The graduate certificate in Leadership in Educational Technology provides students from varied backgrounds with the foundational knowledge and skills required to be effective leaders in an Educational Technology environment. The ideal candidates for this certificate are those who are already in leadership positions, but who lack formal instruction in educational technology, and those who aspire to become leaders in an Educational Technology environment. Potential students might be technology coordinators at schools or districts. They might also be classroom teachers or trainers. They will learn leadership skills including policy making with an emphasis on the use of technology in classrooms and other learning arenas. They will also learn how technology can be effectively applied in their organization. In this vein, they will be exposed to everything from software and hardware systems to the evaluation of sound educational technology software and implementation plans. The Certificate prepares students to apply the theories, principles, models, tools, and techniques associated with leadership into an educational technology environment. Throughout this completely online certificate program students will have numerous opportunities to integrate their professional experiences into their learning, apply their course assignments to their current professional activities, and actively engage with other professionals in the development of these proficiencies.

Students who complete the Leadership in Educational Technology Certificate will:
