Before applying for GSEHD Tuition Support, please be sure you qualify. Each applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Aid applicants must submit an application for tuition support by the January 15th deadline.
- Aid applicants must be enrolled in or applying for admission to on-campus programs. If awarded, they will be required to take all of their coursework on campus.
- Partial tuition awards, the Dean’s Scholar fellowships, and the Department Fellow scholarships are available only to students who have been offered admission in a “clear” admissions status upon entrance to their program.
- Certificate, Post-Master’s Certificate, and Education Specialist candidates are not eligible to receive GSEHD Tuition Support.
See the
Awards Process for information about what to expect during the months after the deadline has passed.
If an applicant is chosen to receive tuition support and s/he accepts that award, there are conditions that must be met and maintained in order to keep the award for the entire academic year. If one of these conditions is not met or is violated, the award will not be posted to the Student Account or may be revoked.
- Awardees must be registered for the minimum required number of credit hours per semester as outlined in the award letter they receive.
- Awardees must maintain a good academic standing throughout the academic year for which they receive funds, meaning, the awardee’s GPA must remain at or above a 3.0. However, aid is awarded on a competitive basis, and maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above does not guarantee aid in subsequent years.
- Awardees must not have outstanding financial obligations to the University.
- Awardees can not receive employee tuition benefits from the George Washington University.
