The Master of Arts in Education and Human Development in the field of Educational Leadership and Administration program prepares practitioners in teaching or teaching-related careers and for positions in educational administration. Schools need principals, mid-level administrators, and instructional supervisors who are prepared to take leadership roles in the nation’s educational systems. Program faculty are scholars, authors, and experienced former principals, superintendents, or state educational officers who bring expertise to the classroom that makes the challenges faced by educational administrators in today’s society come alive.
If you aspire to hold a school-level administrative, supervisory, or central-office leadership position, you can earn K-12 administrative licensure as a school principal, assistant principal or instructional supervisor through the M.A. or the Education Specialist degree programs in Educational Leadership and Administration.
The program is approved by the State Education Agency-Board of Education of the District of Columbia and is part of the GSEHD unit accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
