CESHABI Funding Opportunities

Funding History:
The CESHABI received a five-year federal grant of $1.5 million to launch our Master’s Degree and EdS program through GSEHD’s Department of Teacher Preparation and Special Education (TPSE). Most of this funding supports student scholarships and activities. New grants for special projects and new academic programs are also planned through collaboration of the CEHSABI and TPSE or other departments.

We also received start-up funding from the Jason Foundation in Radford, Virginia, followed by our charter from The George Washington University in 2000.

Three years later, we have a clear vision and strategic plan to develop and implement initiatives that will play a critical role in helping people with brain injuries, of any age, have more productive and fulfilling lives.

Funding Priorities:
As we look toward the future, additional funding is needed to build the Center’s foundation, to respond to a variety of needs through the year, and to have the freedom to launch compelling initiatives as opportunities arise. To help the Center thrive even more in the future, we seek funding for:

  • Research
  • Publications
  • Summer institute for families and professionals
  • Special projects
  • Student scholarships
  • Endowment fund
  • Operating expenses

Ways to Give:
There are many ways to contribute to the strength of the CESHABI. You may make an outright gift, a pledge over a period of several years, or a gift via the transfer of appreciable securities. You can also support the CESHABI via planned giving vehicles that may offer special tax advantages.

For information about making a gift, please call Sarah Baker Morgan, Director of Advancement for the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at (202) 994-8724 or via email at sbmorgan@gwu.edu. Gifts can be mailed to the Office of Advancement, GSEHD, 2134 G Street N.W., Washington D.C. 20052. Checks should be made payable to The George Washington University and accompanying documentation should indicate your wish to support the CESHABI. All gifts to the University, its schools, and programs are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Return to CESHABI home.
